Chief Jim Peschong

Chief Peschong joined the Lincoln Police Department in January 1975. His first duty assignment, after graduation from the academy, was walking the beat in the downtown area as a beat officer. Over his career he has worked in a variety of capacities: foot patrol, motorcycle officer, cruiser officer, detective, Technical Investigations supervisor, Internal Affairs, Southwest Team Captain, Northwest/Center Team Captain, Criminal Investigations COIC, and Assistant Chief of Police. Chief Peschong received his bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Doane College. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 196 and Central States L.E.E.D.S. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and serves on the Police Officer's Association of Nebraska Board of Directors.
