Senior Centers

All Senior Centers are community focal points and principal sources of information, activities and opportunities related to aging. Senior Centers are the place where you may obtain information, education, join fitness and health classes, enjoy recreational activities, share experiences and enjoy a delicious meal. Meals & Activities:  Most Senior Centers offer a delicious noon meal and variety of daily activities. Each Senior Center has a menu and newsletter posted on its web page. All Senior Center offer the same menu items. Reservations for lunch must be ordered by calling the Senior Center you wish to attend two days in advance to ensure that an adequate number of meals are prepared. The actual cost of the meal is approximately $8, however individuals over the age of sixty are asked for a suggested contribution of $4. Individuals who are under sixty pay a fee of $8. Sack lunches (to stay or go) are also offered daily as a meal choice for those under age sixty at a fee of $8. Special holiday meals are also available and individuals over the age of sixty are asked for a suggested contribution of $6. Individuals who are under sixty pay a fee of $9. If transportation to and from the Senior Center is desired, you may reserve your transportation at the same time. Order Handy Meals for the holidays and weekends. You can also obtain information about free or low-cost food resources at the Senior Center or by calling (402) 441-7158 for the Senior Center nearest you. Some Senior Center may serve as distribution sites for various food programs.

Dinner & A Show:  Come and enjoy our monthly evening events of entertainment and dining here in Lincoln. Reservations must be made before noon, two days prior to the event by calling (402) 441-7158. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m. Price is $8, includes occupation & sales tax. No refunds. Van transportation is an additional $4. Show only tickets are $5 at the door. You can't beat the price for a good meal and quality entertainment.

Transportation:  Transportation is provided to each Senior Center within a specified boundary. Call the Senior Center nearest you for details. Shopping assistance is also provided on a bi-monthly basis to area grocery stores. Call the Senior Center nearest you two days in advance to schedule your ride.

Health Services:  Many of the Senior Centers offer transportation to the Senior Health Promotion Clinic on a monthly basis. The clinic offers foot care and other health services at no charge. In addition, many centers offer seasonal flu shots. Please contact the Senior Center nearest you for details.

Health & Fitness:  There are a variety of fitness activities and opportunities offered at all centers including Pilates, Yoga, Stretch & Tone, Nutrition Education, Fitness Assessments and Body Fat Composition. The Belmont Senior Center is located in a City Parks and Recreation facility whose fitness equipment and classes are accessible to participants. All other Senior Centers offer fitness and health programs, classes and walking programs.

Free Income Tax Assistance:   Aging Partners offers Income Tax Assistance at the Downtown Center Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., February through April each year. AARP tax consultants will be available to assist you with your income tax needs. Please bring your photo ID, Social Security card, wage and earnings statements (W2s), interest and dividend statements (Form 1099), a copy of last year's return, and any other information about your income and expenses.

Facility Rental:  Having an evening or weekend meeting or a special celebration? Need a place to meet? Call the Northeast Senior Center at (402) 441-7151, or the
Downtown Senior Center at (402) 441-7158, and make arrangements!

Weather Closings for Senior Centers and Programs:  During times of severe weather, listen to KFOR (1240 AM) it is the official station to turn to for news on Senior Center closings and cancellations. If Lincoln Public Schools close, it is the policy of Aging Partners to close all the Senior Centers and Programs in Lincoln and Lancaster county.

Lancaster County Public Rural Transit: The price for a one-way trip on Lancaster County Rural Transit is $2 This contribution will be accepted by cash or, for your convenience by purchasing a 10-punch ticket. Tickets are available by mail, or in person at the Lancaster Rural Transit Office at:
