2008 "Stuff The Bus"
StarTran, in cooperation with North Wal-Mart, South Wal-Mart, Sam's and Three Eagles Communications, is sponsoring a "Stuff the Bus" promotion for Friendship Home. We are asking Lincolnites to "Stuff the Bus" by donating new items needed by women and children at Friendship Home. Friendship Home is a safe haven for battered women and their children.
StarTran buses will be parked in front of the North Wal-Mart and Sam's at 27th & Superior and at the South Wal-Mart at 87th & Highway 2, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18; from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19; and from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2008. Sam's is also celebrating their 25th Anniversary, so you get in FREE all weekend to help us "Stuff the Bus" for Friendship Home.
Purchase a ticket for $1 for a chance to win Color TVs, Kettle Grills, Gift Certificates, Zunes, or DVD Players. You can purchase hot dogs, chips and soft drinks – all proceeds go to Friendship Home. Feed your family while helping another family set up a home. It will be lots of fun, and it's so easy; just purchase new items, such as, diapers, towels, sheets, pillows, kitchenware, pots & pans, toiletries, laundry and cleaning supplies, batteries, ethnic hair care products, laundry baskets, children's books, lamps, vacuum cleaners and other small appliances, put it in the Friendship Home barrels just outside the Wal-Mart & Sam's doors, or bring it to the StarTran buses. Cash donations are also accepted.
Your donations are greatly needed and appreciated, as many families come to Friendship Home with just the clothes on their back. Friendship Home provides not only safe, confidential shelter and support, but also supplies women and children with the necessities needed to start a new life free from violence.
