Hawley features significant houses associated with early professors at the nearby University of Nebraska, including the Royer-Williams House at 26th & R Streets and the Taylor-Eddy House at 25th and S Streets. The former Vine Congregational Church at 25th and S Streets has long been the home of Christ Temple Mission, founded by Rev. Trago McWilliams.
