Rural Development Policy Review

As a result of controversy surrounding an acreage request in the Pawnee Lake area, and several other acreage and rural development requests, the Planning Commission has asked for a review of the Lincoln Lancaster County development policies in the unincorporated areas. The Department has produced two slideshows, the first one reviewing current and past policy, longterm trends in population and building permits and current approaches to managing rural growth. The second slide show reviews groundwater issues in Lancaster County. This base information may be used in developing possible amendments to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan.

For further information about the status of this review, contact Mike DeKalb at mdekalb@lincoln.ne.gov or by calling the City-County Planning Department at 441-7491.
