"WILD Adventure!"
The Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha

This special Zoo package includes a visit to the beautiful Henry Doorly Zoo, Tram passage and a ticket to the Lozier IMAX Theatre for an amazing film experience. Lunch (on your own) follows, at the Old Country Buffet. Departure: 8 a.m. Northeast Center, 6310 Platte Ave. Return: Approx. 2:30 p.m. To make your reservations, call (402) 441-7158. Cost: $35

"POW WOW at The Arch!" Kearney

The day starts out with a look at Kearney's newest attraction, "The Classic Car Collection." This collection features more than 130 lovingly restored cars from the early 1900's to the 1980's. The collection, which also features video and multimedia displays, will be a feature of 2013's Lincoln Highway Centennial Celebration. After that it's lunch (on your own) at Kearney's beautiful Peterson Senior Center, suggested donation $3.50. After lunch, we're off to the Great Platte River Road Archway for a Pow Wow celebration featuring "Dancers of the Plains," traditional dances of the Northern Ponca tribe of Omaha and the Southern Ponca tribe of Oklahoma. The event also features Education Stations, Living History Activities and a variety of vendors. Departure: 8 a.m., Northeast Center, 6310 Platte Ave. Return: Approx. 4:30 p.m. To make your reservations, call (402) 441-7158. Cost: $40

Dinner & A Show Series

Stretch your evening entertainment dollars with a delicious catered meal and a great show. These popular and well attended events provide audiences with an evening of quality entertainment at a very affordable price. The monthly series is provided at The Cotner Center Condominiums, 1540 N. Cotner Blvd., from April through September annually. These events are made possible by Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home. Dinner: 5:30 p.m., Show: 6:30 p.m.

Thurs., May 10 – Light Up the Night
Featuring: The Lightning Bugs
They were a terrific hit last year, so we couldn't wait to have them back. Join the Lightning Bugs a talented trio that specializes in "Moonbeam Swing" featuring Jazz and Pop standards from the '30s and '40s. Their smooth vocal harmonies transport us back to the days of groups like The Mills Brothers and an era when the big bands were blowing. Menu: Spaghetti & meat sauce, garlic bread, cupcake

Thurs., June 14 – You're a Grand Old Flag
Featuring Joyce Torchia
It's Flag Day and we can't think of a better way to celebrate. Wear your red, white and blue and join talented vocalist Joyce Torchia as she treats us to a variety of patriotic and inspiring tunes from a variety of places. We'll even have a free drawing for an American flag of your very own. Menu: Lasagna, fruit salad, breadstick, frosted cake

Thurs., July 12 – An evening of Comedy and Song
Featuring Terry Edwards and his daughter Angela
Terry Edwards began his musical journey when he was just 12 years old, learning the guitar from his mother and performing with the family. The family tradition continues as he entertains us along side his daughter Angela. It's an evening of music and comedy as Terry combines musicianship, impersonations and a variety of music. Terry last performed for us in 2010 and we're happy to have him back. Menu: Fried chicken breast, green beans, roll, cherry crisp

Thurs., August 9 – Songs from the Golden Age of Country
Featuring "Hillbilly" Hal Conttrell
You loved him last year so he's back again! Born in the hills of West Virginia, Hillbilly Hal Cottrell has been immersed in the world of Country and Bluegrass since the age of 3. He began playing professionally at the age of 15 and has been twice recognized as the SPBGMA Midwest Mandolin Performer of the Year. (SPBGMA: Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America) If it has strings, Hal can play it and play it well! He's a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist with great stage presence and a fantastic repertoire. Don't miss this encore performance. Thurs., September 13 – A Voice for Every Occasion
Featuring Michael Lyon
Closing out this year's season of Dinner & A Show is new comer Michael Lyon a classically trained singer who has mastered a number of genres. His extensive and varied repertoire includes Big Band, Swing, Broadway, Cabaret, Classical, Irish, Italian, Opera, Pop, and Popera. Although Michael's voice and style are uniquely his own, his fans usually share an enjoyment of the talents of Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole and Bobby Darin. He's been called "The most versatile voice in Omaha." Come see why.
