City Council Office
Our office acknowledges the requests received for this month’s speaker. When the chance arose we jumped at the opportunity to book her! On March 1st Lincoln City Clerk, Joan Ross, will present some of the “ins” and “outs” of being the City Clerk. Many constituents have had previous contact with Joan, or definitely have seen her on Channel 5 during the Council meetings, but next week she will give a tiny example of what is truly involved in this officeJoan has been City Clerk since 2000 and for the twenty years prior was the Deputy City Clerk. Incredible as it seems Joan has worked in Lincoln City Government for the last 43 years! Joan’s skillfulness in maintaining executive and directorial orders, plus all applications and permits issued, show her ability to produce solutions for the public and City alike. Joan will give an overview of the office being the repository of City records, including, but not limited to, special assessment districts, Council meetings, City and West Haymarket Arena contracts, to name a few.
Even with this schedule Joan finds time to volunteer for select organizations and enjoys favorite pastimes such as being a book club member giving suggestions to the Lincoln Selection Committee for One Book - One Lincoln.
The possibilities are endless as to the questions you may ask when Joan opens the floor to the audience after her presentation
