City Council Office
This month, Norm Agena, Lincoln's Assessor and Register of Deeds, is our guest speaker.
Norm will give clear explanations of what the “assessed valuation”of a home means; how the figure is arrived at; what a person can conclude from this number; and what a person can do if he or she disagrees with the figure. As Assessor/Register of Deeds, Norm oversees the maintenance of personal property accounts for all businesses and farmers who own depreciable tangible personal property, administers the Homestead Exception program, and reviews all exemption applications filed by religious, charitable, educational, and cemetery organizations. As Register of Deeds, Norm is responsible for receiving, recording, and preserving all land records.
Norm will answer any questions and give examples of valuations and past disputes with subsequent solutions.
