City Council Office
PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR
We are so very pleased to welcome back Lincolnís Public Safety Director, Tom Casady. You probably know, or remember, Tom from the time he served as Lincolnís Police Chief for 17 years, or possibly his tenure as the Lancaster County Sheriff. Tom comes to us with over 40 years of law enforcement experience.
As Lincoln continues to grow Public Safety is a constant concern. Two top priorities now face Lincoln residents. First is replacing our aging 911 radio system, and secondly, the relocation of some of our fire and rescue crews to more effectively cover a growing City.
Tom will discuss the proposal to place a 1/4 cent, three-year, sales tax on the ballot to fund the top two public safety priorities in Lincoln. He will discuss the rationale behind these two projects, and why this option was selected as the proposed funding mechanism.
After his presentation Tom has left time open for the audience. He will answer all questions to better facilitate understanding of the safety priorities and funding proposal.
