John is originally from Ord, Nebraska. He went to college at the University of Nebraska and law school at the University of Nebraska's College of Law. After law school John went to work for Senator Jim Jensen at Nebraska's Unicameral. During his employment with the legislature John participated in a variety of committees including: - -
In 2003, John began his work as legal counsel for the Nebraska Association of School Boards. His work at NASB is primarily centered on providing legal information to the many
members of the association. Since his employment with NASB he has established the Negotiation Information and Technology Network (NITN) to assist school boards in their negotiations
process; he has written a book entitled "Guide Book to Nebraska's Public Meetings Laws;" expanded the number of legal workshops available to members; and developed a number of publications
intended to assist board members fulfill their roles.
John was elected to the Lincoln City Council in 2007 and serves in his capacity as a City Council Member on the following committees and boards:
John is married to Julianne, who is also an attorney in Lincoln. He has two sons, Evan and Colton.
