LFR Administration Internship

Lincoln Fire & Rescue recognizes the value of providing opportunities to individuals seeking a career in the fire service. An internship with LFR provides this type of opportunity as well as supporting the department’s administration, training or maintenance division with much needed staff assistance in the ongoing efforts of the department. LFR internships are unpaid career building opportunities where the intern and the department both benefit in some way.

The LF&R internship program begin in 1981 and has continued to provide numerous opportunities to learn about the administration of the organization and what it takes to manager a modern fire department.

LFR interns must be willing to commit to at least 12 hours weekly, which can be scheduled around a students class or courses, within the normal work week Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you are interested in an internship with LFR please complete the attached application form. If an opening is available, someone will contact you for a follow up interview.

For questions contact Assistant Fire Chief John Huff (402) 441-8351 or jhuff@lincoln.ne.gov.
