What We Have to Offer
Blood Pressure Testing: Fire Apparatus would come to your location and take blood pressure's for a maximum of two (2) hours.
Children's Fire Safety House: (Target audience age 6-12 years) A safety classroom on wheels!
This mobile trailer which contains a kitchen, living room, and upstairs bedroom is designed to teach
home safety tips via "hands on." A smoke machine creates a fire simulation where students must try to
exit the home as safely as possible. The house features smoke alarms and a phone to call 911. The
demonstrations last approximately 12 to 15 minutes, will accommodate 10 to 12 students at a time and
are limited to groups of 50 or larger.
Classroom Lecture: Fire personnel would come talk to a class for approximately an hour.
Fire Station Tours: (Target Audience: Age 5-12 years) Tours of fire stations are available
to school and citizen groups on a limited basis (providing Homeland Security status allows). These
tours are coordinated and conducted by firefighters who work at the specified fire station. Information
includes what comprises a "typical" day at the fire station, along with a description of the fire
equipment used during various types of calls. This program is approximately 45 minutes in length.
Rig Demo/Hat, Coat, and Boot: While in service (available for calls) a fire engine or ladder truck, from your
local community, will visit your school or citizen group and introduce young students to age
appropriate fire safety skills. They will demonstrate how a firefighter looks dressed in full
firefighting gear and provide a tour of the fire engine. This program is done outdoors, we need
to have a parking lot or street big enough for a fire rig. This program is approximately 45 minutes
in length.
