What Is WIC?
The Special Supplemental Nurtrition Program for Women, Infants, & Children is a nutrition intervention program which provides special free foods for women, infants, and children. The program is for: women who are pregnant, breast feeding, or just had a baby; infants up to one year; and children from one to five years of age.
Good nutrition and health care are important to pregnant mothers, growing babies, and children. The WIC staff helps women and children choose healthy foods.
The WIC Program is available at more than 120 clinic sites throughout Nebraska.
Do I Qualify For WIC?
You can receive WIC special foods if you live in Nebraska, meet income guidelines of the program and if you have a nutritional need. To find out your nutritional needs, the WIC Program staff will do a simple health review.

What Will I Receive?
You will receive special free foods that you and your children need to be healthy. WIC foods are:
You will also receive education to help you select good foods and improve your health.
Breastfeeding mothers whose infants do not receive any formula from WIC receive additional foods. These foods include juice, cheese, peanut butter, tuna and carrots.
WIC staff can refer you to a health care provider for medical care if you need it.
