Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment


Steps for Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment

  1. Once eligibility is determined by a local HHS caseworker, clients with Medicaid coverage who live in Lancaster, Douglas or Sarpy County are generally required to enroll in Nebraska Health Connection/Kids Connection - the Medicaid Managed Care Program in Nebraska.
  2. Clients receive information in the mail informing them that they need to contact Nebraska Health Connection/Kids Connection to enroll.
  3. To complete the enrollment, clients need to call or come into the Nebraska Health Connection/Kids Connection office in Lincoln or Omaha.
  4. Clients will talk with a public health nurse, who will provide health education and share general information about managed care.
  5. After talking with the nurse, clients are asked to choose what health plan they would like and who their primary care physician should be.
  6. Once the choices are made, the nurse "enrolls" the client into managed care.
