Per the Nebraska Health and Human Services System recommendation, the following will become clinic policy and will be placed in the "Nebraska Public Immunization Clinic Manual".
Effective immediately:
Due to vaccine shortage, the Nebraska Public Clinics will immediately defer the administration of the Varicella vaccine until children are 18 months of age.
Children should be recalled when they reach 18 months of age or when the vaccine supply is adequate to immunize eligible children.
A copy of the ACIP statement describing prioritization of vaccine supplies will
follow in hard copy.
