Protecting People and Animals
The Animal Control Division of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department has free presentations available for any age, group, school, club or event in the city of Lincoln. Each presentation can be given with or without videos. Average length for any topic is 45 minutes (depending on length of video) and allows time for questions and answers. Animal Control will be glad to help you decide which is best for your group.
Introducing proper pet care and responsible pet ownership at a young age is crucial, as well as learning animal safety. All presentations begin with Animal Control information, what animal control is, what animal control does, and may include Lincoln ordinances pertaining to animals. Presentations are designed to educate the audience about public safety, animal control, and animal related topics in general. Some of the topics available are:
Animal Control has equipment to show videos. Handout material (including fun stuff like stickers, pencils, etc.) is part of the presentation. Animal Control can also set up a booth at any event in Lincoln, such as health/school fairs, scouting events, etc. Every year (end of March), Animal Control also sponsors a “Be Kind to Animals” drawing contest for kids.
Call 441-7900 and let Animal Control open the world of pets and animals to your kids. Planting seeds of pet responsibility does sprout into being better pet owners, which aids in keeping Lincoln a great place to live.
