Respite Care

Respite care is temporary relief care designed for families of adults with special needs. Respite care can range from a few hours of care provided on a one-time basis to overnight or extended care sessions. Respite care can be utilized on a regular or irregular basis and can be provided by family members, friends, skilled care providers or professionals. Providers, chosen by the family, care for adults with special needs while families take a class, go to a movie, go on a vacation, or enjoy any activity. Different program can reduce the difficulties they face by furnishing funding for in-home services, respite, and supplemental services like home modifications, emergency response systems, and incontinence supplies. Programs can provide financial assistance to qualified caregivers when funds are available.

The Senior Companion Program assists persons 60 years of age or older who want to maintain independent living in their home as long as it is safe to do so. Senior companions are trained volunteers who visit on a regular basis.
