Eldercare
Saline County Eldercare provides assistance to any resident of
Saline County who is 60 years or older, or to anyone who has
concerns regarding an older person. Eldercare services
help older individuals live independently and remain an
active and vital part of the Community. We provide
information on the network of services available to older adults
and assist individuals in accessing these services.
Saline Eldercare is
open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. except for
recognized County Holidays and inclement weather. If in

Senior Services, Information & Referral
Unless
otherwise indicated, call the Eldercare office for
information on the following programs. Fees for
services is indicated.

Information & Referrals - Education and speaking engagements
available to all organizations on the Eldercare Program.
Also included is assistance to senior citizens with specific
needs, this includes home assessments.
w Senior
Companion - The Companion is 60 years or older who
encourages independence by visiting older adults in their homes.
w
Friendly Visitor - Volunteers who are trained to go into the
homes of older adults to visit, and can provide essential
transportation.
w Case
Management - Targeted for persons and caregivers who need
assistance in dealing with care needs.
w
Personal Care - An aide under direct supervision of a
medical professional, assist with daily living needs.

Outreach - Saline Eldercare staff will visit elderly persons
in their homes to do an assessment of their needs for the
necessary services.

DeWitt Senior Center - Congregate Meals are offered every
Wednesday at noon for a suggested donation. Home
delivered meals are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Special diet
is available upon request. No weekend or holiday delivery.
