Forever Strong

Rise, Shine & Wake-up every day with Certified Fitness Trainer Jeanne Sands. This half hour strength training program is specially geared toward older adults that want a little more than exercise in their daily routine. You can build up your endurance, strength and flexibility. Mornings @ 8:30am

Yoga: Refresh & Renew

Yoga is one of the most popular kinds of exercise today and now you can join the fun. Start your day off with a sense of feeling refreshed and renewed with this different kind of exercise that builds flexibility and strength. Yoga for older adults: for mind, spirit & body. Hosted by Dia Nelson. Mornings @9:30am

Pilates

Pilates is a gentle and effective way to build core strength in the abdominal muscles and those that surround the spine. Weakness in this area is at the heart of most chronic back pain. Emphasis is also placed on balancing strength and flexibility in the muscles surrounding the joints. Joseph Pilates named six principles as the basis of his method: concentration, control, centering, flowing movement, precision and breathing. The Pilates Method works the body in a systematic and organized way.

This quarterly 5 CITY-TV program highlights the upcoming events and happenings in Lincoln's Parks and Recreation Department. Beyond Books

Did you miss that author reading at the library? Beyond Books gives you the opportunity to experience readings of Nebraska authors and poets featured in the John H. Ames Reading Series without leaving home. The Jane Pope Geske Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors, a service of Lincoln City Libraries, sponsors the reading series and welcomes comments at heritage@lincolnlibraries.org

PAL

The Preservation Association of Lincoln looks at yesterday and today. This hour-long program is taped live at the auditorium in the Museum of Nebraska History, 15th and P Streets (131 Centennial Mall North). The lectures are held on second Tuesday of the month at noon.

Straight Talk with Jon Camp

Straight Talk features City Council member Jon Camp in conversations with Lincoln's leaders and prominent citizens from non-profit organizations, business, government, education and other vital segments of the community. Camp and his guests discuss issues facing Lincoln and provide information about how citizens can become involved in meeting challenges faced by a growing and ever changing community.

History Forum

2004 Brown Bag Lectures are held the third Thursday of each month at noon at the auditorium in the Museum of Nebraska History, 15th and P Streets (131 Centennial Mall North).

City Council

City Council Meetings are covered live and unedited. Gavel-to-Gavel coverage is Mondays at 1:30 p.m. (5:30pm on the last Monday of the month) on 5 CITY-TV (Time Warner cable channel 5 in Lincoln). Repeat telecasts are Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and following the Pre-City Council on Saturdays starting at 1 p.m.

County Board

The County Board of Commissioners meet Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. Repeat telecasts are at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturday after the City Council meetings repeat.

Lincoln-Lancaster Planning Commission

Planning Commission Meetings are Wednesdays at 1 p.m. The remaining 2003 meeting dates are 11/12, 11/26, 12/10. Repeat telecasts are Sundays at 1 p.m.
