"One of the reasons Lincoln is such a great city is that we take care of each other. This holiday season, many organizations and individuals have been working to make sure all our families have food and clothing. Others have played Santa, working to provide every child in the Capital City with at least one toy or gift. As the snow has fallen, the generosity has increased as neighbors checked on each other and shoveled out driveways and sidewalks for those who could not do it themselves. Helping others is an ideal way to celebrate the holidays and to get into the spirit of the season. I want to thank all of you who work every day of the year to make Lincoln the caring community it is. Happy holidays from my family to yours."
