Lincoln Police Department
Lincoln Police Chief Tom Casady says LPD has investigated two cases in which disturbing phone calls have been directed towards residents of Middle Eastern origin. Neither of these was specific, and both appear to be in the category of bigoted insults more than direct threats. We want to ensure our residents and our international students and visitors that we will work diligently to protect them from any harassment, threats or assaults. These behaviors are intolerable, and when there is evidence to identify the perpetrator, arrests will be made in such cases. We encourage anyone who is targeted by such hate crimes to report these to us so we can investigate the offenses promptly.
