Access to North 56th from East "O" to Close for Four Days

Access from "O" Street to North 56th Street will be closed to traffic from Friday March 22 through Monday March 25 while construction crews move underground communication cables. Only local business and residential access will be allowed on 56th Street between "R" and "O" streets. Access from "O" Street to South 56th Street will remain open.

Drivers will be routed away from the 56th and "O" intersection by electronic message boards. Motorists traveling southbound on 56th Street north of "O" Street will be directed to "R" Street, then east onto Cotner Boulevard to travel south to the intersection of 56th St., Cotner, and Randolph Street.

Motorists traveling northbound on 56th Street will be able to turn left and right onto "O" Street but they will not be allowed to then turn left from "O" Street onto North Cotner Boulevard. Northbound motorists on 56th Street are encouraged to turn onto Cotner Boulevard at the intersection of 56th, Cotner, and Randolph in order to travel north of "O" Street.

When access to 56th Street is re-opened, access to Cotner Boulevard north of "O" Street will close until approximately July 1.

The Lincoln Police Department will enforce all temporary speed limits and no-left-turn restrictions on "O" Street.
