TRAFFIC SHIFT ON 70TH TO START TODAY

Weather has delayed the traffic shift on 70th Street between P and L Streets until today. Rain on Monday, March 17 prevented crews from striping pavement to prepare for the shift, originally planned for March 18.

Traffic on 70th Street between P and L will shift to the west side of the street. Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction, with a center lane for left turns. The shift will remain in effect until the middle or end of May. Access to business driveways on the east side of 70th Street will be limited during the westward shift.

Traffic on East O Street between Eastridge Drive and Wedgewood Drive shifted to the south side of the street on Sunday, March 16.

The traffic shifts are part of phase two of the East O project, which will widen East O from two to three lanes in each direction from Eastridge Drive to Wedgewood Drive. Phase one of the project, completed in September, widened East O from 52nd Street to Eastridge Drive and included reconstruction on 56th Street and Cotner Boulevard.

The latest information on the project can be found on the 24-Hour East "O" Street Information Line, 441-0432, and on the City website, ww.lincoln.ne.gov.
