Patriot Day - Lincoln Remembers

Several hundred people gathered at the Auld Receation Center September 11 for an
observance of the second anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Fire Chief
Mike Spadt was the keynote speaker. To his left is interpretor Karla Engstrom.

Sunken Gardens Campaign Receives Large Challenge Donation
|
Mayor Coleen J. Seng and the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Foundation today
announced that a $100,000 challenge grant has been received from Harley Bair of
Lincoln for the Sunken Gardens capital campaign.

A crowd of supporters attended the news conference at the Sunken Gardens.

|
Harley Bair addressed the crowd. He is the nephew of E.M. Bair, the
Lincoln Park Superintendent who created the Gardens at 27th Street and
Capitol Parkway in 1930.
