Coffee Connection Waitress Sandy Smith Recognized
|
"Lincoln Parks and Recreation Director Lynn Johnson (left) and Lincoln Mayor Coleen Seng say thanks
to Coffee Connection waitress Sandy Smith for her philanthropic efforts to help repair
the Cupid statue in Antelope Park's Rose Garden which was vandalized in April.
As of August 22, Smith had donated her tips totalling $865.90 to the repair effort.
Mayor Seng presented Smith with a Key to the City and Johnson presented her a "Park Angel" certificate.
The cost to repair the statue has been estimated at about $5,000. Tax-deductible
donations to help repair the statue may be sent to the "Cupid Statue," Lincoln Parks
and Recreation Department, 2740 "A" Street, Lincoln, NE 68502."

Mayor Thanks Union College for Community Service
|
Mayor Seng welcomed Union College students to her news conference September 4 to
thank them for their work on the annual Project Impact community service day.
At left is Sissel Schlisner, president of the Union College branch of SIFE
(Students In Free Enterprise) who was responsible for obtaining sponsors for
our community service day. On the right is Justin Okimi, student director of
the Project Impact day.

Boo at the Zoo

Mayor Seng thanks Walmart for its donation to the "Pal for Pearl" campaign during
the Folsom Children's Zoo's "Boo at the Zoo" Halloween event October 26

Groundbreaking for Farm Credit Services of America
|
Mayor Seng helped break ground October 9 for a new retail office for Farm Credit
Services of America at 855 Fallbrook Blvd. The office is expected to be
completed by next April.
