Mayor Seng watches students from Clinton Elementary cross North 27th Street at Holdrege, where new countdown crosswalk signals have been installed.

Mark Fenton, host of "America's Walking" on PBS, spoke at the news conference October 11.

The countdown signals tell pedestrians how many seconds they have left to safely cross the street before the signal changes.

Mayor Seng cut the ribbon to officially reopen Holmes Lake and Park October 6. She was joined by many of the agencies and organizations that partnered with the City on the project.
