City of Lincoln Mayor's Office 2006 Media Releases |
Mayor Coleen Seng invites the public to the dedication of the Helen Boosalis Trail Connector at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 21 at a location just south of Pinnacle Bank, 5651 South 59th St. The Boosalis Trail Connector runs from South 56th Street just north of Highway 2 to Old Cheney Road. The completion of this section of the Boosalis Trail provides trail users the opportunity to ride their bicycle or walk a continuous trail from 17th Street and Highway 2 to 70th and Old Cheney Road. It also provides the opportunity to be on a loop trail connecting to the 70th Street Trail, Billy Wolff Trail and Rock Island Trail for a continuous nine-mile ride or walk. Funding for this project was provided by the Recreational Trails Program of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Federal Highway Administration and the Parks and Recreation Department. Thompson Realty Group and Pinnacle Bank were critical partners in the Boosalis Trail Project, providing the easements necessary for its completion. |
