Mayor Seng and Hy-Vee Executive Vice President Charlie Bell announced that a new Hy-Vee supermarket will be built in northeast Lincoln at a news conference August 2.

City Council members Jonathan Cook and Dan Marvin joined Mayor Seng July 26 at a news conference to discuss a proposal to clarify the types of crimes that would prevent a person from being eligible to possess or carry a concealed weapon.

Acklie Fountain dedicated in Government Square Park.

Mayor Seng, Duane and Phyllis Acklie and members of the Acklie family were on hand July 17 for the dedication of the Acklie Fountain in the new Government Square Park at 10th and "O" Streets. The Acklies have given the fountain as a gift to the citizens of Lincoln. Also attending were staff with the City Urban Development Department, who helped fund the development of the park through TIF funding, and staff from the City Parks and Recreation Department, who designed the park and fountain and will maintain the site. A formal dedication of the park is planned for Friday, October 6 as part of the "First Friday" gallery walk.
