Kelsey Soukup and Don Cunningham, employees with the Nebraska State Historical Society, will be presented "Honorary Firefighter" awards by Lincoln Fire and Rescue at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 19 at the Nebraska State Historical Society, 1500 "R" St. Soukup and Cunningham are being honored for their quick life-saving actions after one of their co-workers collapsed on August 16. Their quick response in performing CPR was vital in saving the life of their co-worker, who is now back at work. "This is another great example of how our citizens make this community an outstanding place to live," said Lincoln Fire Chief Dan Wright. "Their life-saving actions, dialing 911, and the quality medical care in Lincoln all contributed to a wonderful outcome and positive ending." Representing Lincoln Fire and Rescue to present the Honorary Firefighter awards will be Chief Dan Wright, Captain Leo Benes, and members of the Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews who responded to the emergency. |
