Mayor Beutler Names New Fire Chief

August 24, 2007
Mayor Beutler named Niles Ford, a Deputy Fire Chief from Fulton County Georgia, as the City’s new Fire Chief at a news conference August 24. Ford is pictured at left.


Attending the news conference were members of the Fire Chief Selection Committee. Pictured from the left are Rod Hutt, former Grant Fire Chief; Jerry McGinn, former Lincoln Fire fighter and Building and Safety Director; Wally Barnett, former State Senator and State Fire Marshall; Mayor Beutler; Danny Wright, Interim Fire Chief; and Hobie Boswell, former Fire Chief of Foxboro, Mass. Other members of the committee were Mark Koller, President of HRConnex, and Dave Engler of the local fire fighters’ union.


The Mayor thanked Wright for his service as Interim Chief. He will return to his former position as Deputy Chief of Training in Lincoln Fire and Rescue.


MCIF Celebrates 40th Anniversary
