Interim Chief honored

September 28, 2007
Mayor Beutler issued a proclamation declaring September 28 as “Dan Wright Day” at a surprise reception to honor Wright for his service as Interim Fire Chief. New Fire Chief Niles Ford began working October 1.


"Hands On/ Help Out Lincoln's Parks"

Lincoln Parks and Recreation Director Lynn Johnson kicked off a volunteer park cleanup program at a news conference Sept. 28 at Peter Pan Park. Mayor commends Union College effort

September 28, 2007
At his September 28 news conference, Mayor Beutler recognized Union College for the 26th annual Project Impact day of volunteer community service. About 750 volunteers - more than 80 percent of the campus – worked at 50 different sites on September 6th. Project Impact is now the longest- running and largest collegiate community service event in the nation. Student Chaplain Ann Bryant presented a t-shirt to the Mayor. Mayor Forms Advisory Council on Women's Issues

October 11, 2007
Mayor Chris Beutler announced the formation of the Mayor’s Commission on Women at a news conference October 11. The Lincoln Lancaster Women’s Commission (LLWC) was recently disbanded. The LLWC was formed in 1976 by then-Mayor Helen Boosalis and then-Lancaster County Commissioner Jan Gauger.
