Mayor Chris Beutler today announced the winners of the annual water conservation poster contest. Lincoln fifth-graders participated in the art contest, sponsored by the Mayor's Water Conservation Task Force. The top two entries were submitted by Ben Haes, Humann Elementary School, whose artwork will be displayed on two StarTran busboards; and Grayson Wegener, Adams Elementary School, whose artwork will be displayed on billboards at various Lincoln locations.
"This poster contest is one of the ways the Water Conservation Task Force educates the community about the importance of protecting our natural resources," said Mayor Beutler. "The busboards and billboards remind the public that we all have a role to play in water conservation. It's also a great opportunity for our young artists to display their talents in a way that will help reinforce good water conservation practices and promote the value of our natural resources for future generations."
The third-place winner was Masen Louviere of Cavett Elementary. Honorable mention awards were presented to Ashley Carroll, Kahoa Elementary; Sam Lesoing, Adams Elementary; Annie Jia, Morley Elementary; Rebekah Guilford, Guilford Home School; Taylor Morgan, Kahoa Elementary; Kyle Krueger, Zeman Elementary; and Moriah Lindell, Zeman Elementary.
