Public Invited to Open House on Street Rehab Project

Thirteen street segments to be under construction

The public is invited to an open house on the Citywide Street Rehabilitation project from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the Antelope Park enclosed shelter, 1650 Memorial Drive. The project includes asphalt mill and overlay, some concrete base repair and ADA ramp reconstruction. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 1.

The project includes the following locations:

• Capitol Parkway, 21st to 33rd
• Cotner Blvd., Fairfax to Leighton
• Cotner Blvd., Leighton to Adams
• Havelock Avenue, Touzalin to 72nd
• 45th Street, "R" to Vine
• Rosa Parks Way, Highway 77 to 1st
• 13th Street, Calvert to High
• 17th Street, South to "A"
• 17th Street, Van Dorn to South
• 40th Street, Pinewood Lane to Old Cheney Road (northbound only)
• 40th Street, South to "A"
• 56th Street, Highway 2 to 5200 S. 56th
• 56th Street, Vavak Place to Spruce

The public is invited to stop in anytime over the two hours to learn about the construction schedule and phasing. No formal presentations are planned. Representatives from the City Public Works and Utilities Department and the contractor, Pavers Inc., will be available to answer questions.
