Beginning Wednesday, July 17, S. 40th Street from South to "A" streets will be closed for about six weeks for street rehabilitation. The detour route is 48th Street. The rehabilitation project is part of the Citywide resurfacing project.
The project includes new asphalt and pavements markings as well as the widening of the roadway by two feet. Pedestrian curb ramps will be reconstructed to meet ADA standards. Access to side streets and driveways will be restricted at times. The City and the contractor, Pavers Inc., will work with local businesses and residents on access issues.
More information on the project is available at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: projects). Those with questions or comments can contact Zach Becker, Engineering Services, at 402-613-3763 and email@example.com.
