The community is invited to an open house Thursday, January 23 on improvements to Old Cheney Road from 70th to 82nd streets. The meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Christian School, 5801 South 84th Street. Directional signs will be posted to guide the public to parking and meeting areas.
Because of rising traffic volumes, the existing two-lane rural street will be upgraded to a four-lane urban street with turn lanes, curbs and gutters. Construction is scheduled to begin February 3. The project includes the following:
The open house will provide an opportunity for attendees to view the current plans and construction schedule and speak with City staff, private utility representatives and the construction contractor.
