The City Recycling Office today announced that about 6,840 trees were deposited at seven tree recycling sites in the City. Hofeling Enterprises, 2200 S. Folsom Court, donated tree grinding services and has distributed close to 250 cubic yards of tree mulch to the public. An additional 100 cubic yards of mulch is currently available free of charge at their facility on a first-come, first-served basis. Hofeling Enterprises will continue to accept holiday trees at its facility free of charge during normal business hours through the end of January.
This was the 27th year for the City's tree recycling program. During that time, about 217,500 trees have been recycled.
