Beginning Monday, June 9, improvements to intersections along Superior Streets will restrict traffic, causing congestion during peak morning and afternoon commutes. Construction will take place at the intersections of Superior with 21st Street, 24th Street, 27th Street and Bair Avenue as well as the intersection at 27th Street and King Lane.
During construction, left turns onto Superior Street will not be allowed from the adjoining streets. When completed, the median modifications will provide motorists additional u-turn locations. Construction is expected to be completed by late August.
The project is funded through street rehabilitation and construction funds generated through wheel and gas taxes.
The City Public Works and Utilities Department appreciates the public's patience during construction and urges motorists to use extra caution in work zones. For more information on City construction projects, visit lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: projects).
