The public is invited to an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11 to learn about the improvement project on 70th Street from Van Dorn Street to Eastborough Lane. The open house will be held at Morley Elementary, 6800 Monterey Drive.
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 22. The project includes pavement repair, the reconstruction of pedestrian curb ramps that do not meet current federal and local standards, and the replacement of a pedestrian crossing signal at 70th Street and Lincolnshire Road. Most of the work will be completed using lane closures, but short-term intersection closures will be necessary to complete some repairs
No formal presentation is planned at the open house. Those attending will be able to view the construction schedule and project phasing and visit with City staff and the contractor.
