Hyde Memorial Observatory at Holmes Lake will be closed Saturday, July 4. The facility will reopen for regular viewing and programs on Saturday, July 11.
Hyde Observatory is open every Saturday night April through September from 8 to 11 p.m., and every Saturday night October through March from 7 to 10 p.m. Views of the night skies can be observed through three telescopes with various astronomy presentations conducted throughout the evening. July's programs include the Year of Pluto and Saturn.
Hyde Memorial Observatory is operated entirely by donations and volunteers. The Observatory is devoted exclusively to public viewing and is free of charge.
