Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) invites the public to welcome another new firetruck at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 9 at Fire Station 8, 2760 S. 17th Street. The brief ceremony will continue the long tradition of driving the older fire truck out of the station and pushing the new one in. The event also includes public tours of the station and firefighting apparatus.
New Truck 8 is the second of five new apparatus to be placed in service this year. New Truck 7 was placed in service in July. "This is another very welcome addition," said Fire Chief Micheal Despain. "Adding these new trucks are great steps forward in getting our fleet in better shape.
New Truck 8 has been at the LFR maintenance shop being prepared for service since mid-June.
