Mahoney Dog Run Improvement Project Starts Monday

Beginning Monday, May 14, portions of the Mahoney Park Dog Run near 84th and Adams streets will be closed for improvements. The installation of concrete paths, benches and two shade structures is expected to be complete in four to five weeks, weather permitting.

During construction, large and small dogs will use a single area. The small dog area and 84th Street parking lot will be closed first. During this closure, residents must use the Mahoney Park main entrance at N. 70th and Fremont streets. Parking is available near the ball fields, and residents can access the large dog area via the path south of the park. The small dog area and 84th Street parking lot will be reopened prior to the closure of the large dog area.

The Mahoney Park facility includes a four-acre space for large dogs and a one-acre area for small dogs. During construction, the public is encouraged to visit the City's other three dog runs:
