Several community members give back to Lincoln by serving on one of the many volunteer advisory groups providing guidance to the Parks and Recreation Department.  Click on the group title to find out more.

Special Community Groups, Meetings, and Open Houses

Wilderness Park Community Working Group

Purpose: To discuss the needs of Wilderness Park in the context of the goals established, prioritize projects that may be accomplished given the resources available, identify possible sources of additional funding, and identify projects that might be appropriate for volunteer assistance.

Pioneers Park Equestrian Trail Community Meeting

Purpose: To discuss the equestrian trail / bridle path in Pioneers Park. Discussion topics will include the condition and maintenance of the trail, coordination of use of the trail with other activities in the park including concerts and performances at Pinewood Bowl and cross-country running events, and potential opportunities for extension of the trail. Those who have an interest in horseback riding in Pioneers Park are invited to attend and to participate in the discussion.
