Participants and sponsors of the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Green Team summer youth employment program gathered recently to celebrate another successful year. The Green Team is a summer youth employment program for low-income and at-risk youth who are 13 to 15 years of age. The program emphasizes job-training skills including preparation of a job application, interviewing, reporting to work, and completing assigned work tasks. Participants assist in park maintenance activities, playground construction, and summer day camp programs. Participants are employed six hours per day during three-week sessions.

The 2005 Green Team was funded entirely by private contributions to Lincoln Cares.
