The activities included in Nature Center programs support the following objectives outlined in Nebraska Science Content Standards published by the Nebraska Department of Education, August 1, 1999. Standards marked with an xx indicate that this is the primary topic of the given program, those marked with an x indicate that the concept is addressed during the program.

3.04 Life Science

3.04A1b Investigate how living things need food, water, and air to survive.
3.04A1c Describe how roots, stems and leaves serve different functions for plants.

4.04A1c Describe internal causes of behavior, such as hunger, and external causes of behavior, such as change in the environment, in living things.
