Mission Statement


COMMUNITY FORESTRY ADVISORY BOARD MISSION STATEMENT


The mission of the City of Lincoln Community Forestry Advisory Board (The Board) shall be as follows:

  1. To advise the Mayor, City Council and the Director or his/her designate of the Parks and Recreation Department on issues regarding the planting, maintenance, and preservation of trees and associated vegetation on City property.

  2. To serve as an appointed citizen's representative and advocate for trees for the City of Lincoln.

  3. To develop, and update when appropriate, a vision statement of what the City of Lincoln's urban forest should be at some point in the future.

  4. To assist in the development, implementation, review and/or revision of a long-range master plan for the urban forest of the City.

  5. To develop and implement an annual work plan for The Board which is consistent with the goals and objectives of the vision statement and long-range master plan for the urban forest of the City.
