The mission of the City of Lincoln Community Forestry Advisory Board (The Board) shall be as follows:
- To advise the Mayor, City Council and the Director or his/her designate of the Parks and Recreation Department on issues regarding the planting, maintenance, and preservation of trees and associated vegetation on City property.
- To serve as an appointed citizen's representative and advocate for trees for the City of Lincoln.
- To develop, and update when appropriate, a vision statement of what the City of Lincoln's urban forest should be at some point in the future.
- To assist in the development, implementation, review and/or revision of a long-range master plan for the urban forest of the City.
- To develop and implement an annual work plan for The Board which is consistent with the goals and objectives of the vision statement and long-range master plan for the urban forest of the City.
