We have members throughout Lincoln doing great work within the low-income community and exploring career options at the same time. Hands-on training along with workshops and meetings will provide skill building opportunities for all members.

  • Full-time Members commit to 1,710 hours during a year and receive a living allowance of $11,800 and $5,300 educatioin award..
  • Half time Members commit to 910 hours during a year and receive a living allowance of $6,246 and $2650 education award.

Once the hours are completed successfully the Member receives an educational award that can be applied to past student loans or future education. Eligible Members may receive other benefits and, under some circumstances, the living allowance will not impact any fixed benefits that Members are currently receiving.

Reach for the Stars & Kids at the Core
These grants focus on working with low income children, youth and adults in the areas of literacy, homework assistance, social and recreation activities and multicultural exploration.

Go Green Nebraska!
This grant addresses various facets of the environment. Members address recycling, health and waste hazards, tree maintenance, teach outdoor skills to youth, work in the community gardens, disaster preparedness, neighborhood revitalization, and much more. Participating sites are:

  • Nebraska Game and Parks Commission
