Elias Dial House

Elias Dial House

Boundary/Address:
2033 South 16th Street
Designation:
Local Landmark

Architect/Engineer:
George Ridgway
Year Built:
1904
Ridgway was an active builder in Lincoln from around 1900 until his death in 1936, and is known to have worked as an architect, as well as builder, by the 1910s. The Dial House is a small frame cottage that combines elements of the 19th century Queen Anne style and the emerging Neo-Classical Revival style of the early 20th century. It shows the influence of the new trends on even small houses, and demonstrates Ridgway's production of unique, distinctive houses by a very early point in his career.
