Infrastructure Finance Comments

I truly believe that we, the citizens of Lincoln, should not have to pay part of the profits to the individuals and businesses that profitted (more greatly) because of the short sightedness of the City to not require these people to pay 100% of any new infrastructure required beyond what was already existing. Having said that, I also realize that we need to come up with the money for the $900,000,000 deficit. Propose that all monies that revenue collected from Sept. 1 on be spent on the reduction of this deficit (no increase in current taxing. The new evaluation can take care of this with new revenue.) To insure we don't get in this defecit again, make sure any new infrastructure required by development beyond old structure be paid for the ones who profit from this. Not the average citizen. So 100% of any new infrastructure be paid for by the developer (impact fees at 8% of the cost don't cut it). I can heat the comment, "Well, this will be passed on to the homeowner." Believe me, all costs that a builder must pay in fees or taxes are already passed on to the homeowner plus some more added profit.

(A portion of text was missing from the comment submitted - Ed.) for any new development is paid for by the developer 100% (not the 8% which will be paid for in impact fees, which is a joke). That way, the City does not continue on the same crooked course it has been following. The citizens are tired of subsidizing the building industry so that they can have a larger profit.

Thank you.
