Community Indicators

Study Purpose and Scope

As part of the Comprehensive Plan Annual Review process, the Planning Department prepares a "Community Indicators Report." This Report summarizes information on statistical trends for Lincoln and Lancaster County covering a series of demographic, development, environmental, economic, and transportation indicators. This information serves as a common information source for the public, appointed officials, and elected officials in determining how closely the assumptions and policy objectives of the Plan are being met.

Study Process and Timing

The preparation of the Community Indicators Report is handled by the Planning Department with information drawn from numerous outside sources. The Report is crafted to coincide with the Comprehensive Plan Annual Review process. The release of the Report typically occurs in the spring of each year. The Community Indicators Report developed in conjunction with the Year 2030 Comprehensive Plan Review was issued in April, 2007.

A Year 2008 edition of the Community Indicators Report will be issued as part of the Year 2008 Annual Review of the Comprehensive Plan.
