Transit Development Plan Approved by StarTran Advisory Board

The StarTran Advisory Board unanimously approved the Transit Development Plan (TDP) and the near-term route changes at its June 21, 2007 meeting. Some adjustments to the near-term plan were made by the Advisory Board as part of their action was based on public testimony from the June 16, 2007 Public Hearing. The TDP and route changes will now be sent to the Mayor for his consideration.

The TDP is a result of extensive public input and public discussion. Near-term changes and enhancements to fixed-route bus service, new neighborhood routes, and a new Downtown shuttle route are part of the service proposal. These near-term service and route changes are anticipated to be implemented in June 2008 (pending 2008 budget decisions). Longer-term service options and organizational and funding concepts are also included in the TDP.
